Section 147 of the Code of Criminal Procedure deals with disputes concerning rights of use of land or water, and provides that, in such cases, the Magistrate may require the parties concerned in such dispute to attend his Court, in person or by a pleader, on a specified date and time, and to submit the written statements of their respective claims.
The Magistrate can then make an inquiry similar to the one under S. 145 above, and if after such inquiry, it appears to him that such a right exists, he may make an order prohibiting any interference with the exercise of such right, and in proper cases, he can also pass an order for the removal of any obstruction in the exercise of any such right.
