The gender discrimination starts from before the birth. The preference is given to son so that he can uphold the responsibility of family and this is reflection of patriarchal society. As most of the families, gave preference to mal child ultimately this discrimination against female children result in feticide and female child were killed in the womb of their mother. This practice of “Femicide” is one of the big crimes in human rights context.
The 1991 Indian census revealed that effect of gender discrimination-the sex ratio decreased from 934 women per 1000 men in 1981 to 929 in 1991. The one of the problem faced by girl children that “the practice of femicide”. Secondly, early child marriage is one of the problems. In which children were married below the age of 18.
