Social and economic rights are enjoyed by children and it depends on their families. Article 18 of convention recognized that parent have primary responsibility for upbringing of children and state parties render assistance to parent for their child-rearing responsibilities and also ensures the development of services for the care of children.
Article 24, provides that child has right to enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities of treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health. The state parties to convention much take measure to combat diseases, malnutrition, and child morality and to ensure pre-natal and post-natal health care for mother. It also provides to reduce the infant morality practices.
Children should not work which may be hazardous and which may be harmful to their health and development. They should not work which interfere with education. States have made various obligations to ensure the implementation of these rights through establishment of a minimum age of admission to employment, adoption of regulations regarding condition of employment.

Article 36 provides that every child is entitled to benefit of social security and social insurance. Article 27 provides that “every child has right to standard of living adequate of his or her development.” Article 32 provides that: The child has right to be protected from economic exploitation.”
The state parties have imposing sanction for ensuring effective enforcement of above mentioned article given in convention. The convention on Rights of Child contains provision that “With regards to social, economic arid cultural rights, state parties have undertake measures for implementation and to maximum extent of their resource and within the framework of international cooperation.”
For implementing all these social and economic rights of children, UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), non-government organizations played a commendable role and bring bilateral cooperation among states.
