Mischief by causing inundation or obstruction to public drainage attended with damage:
Mischief by causing inundation or obstruction to public drainage attended with damage has been punished under this section. The section states that whoever commits mischief by doing any act which either causes or which he knows to be likely to cause either an inundation or an obstruction to any public drainage attended with injury or damage, shall be punished with simple or rigorous imprisonment for a term extending up to five years, or with fine, or with both.

The offence under this section is cognizable, bailable and non-compoundable, and is triable by magistrate of the first class.
