Legal Provisions of Section 343 of Indian Penal Code, 1860.
Wrongful confinement for three or more days:
This section prescribes penalty for wrongful confinement for three or more days. It says that whoever wrongfully confines any person for three days or more, shall be punished with simple or rigorous imprisonment for a term extending up to two years, or with fine, or with both. The offence under this section is quite serious is clear from the fact that even rigorous imprisonment up to two years could be awarded to the offender.
