Unlawfully taking coining instrument from mint:

Unlawfully taking out of mint any coining instrument has been made an offence under this section. The section states that whoever, without having authority under law, takes out of any mint, which is lawfully established in India, either any coining tool or instrument, shall be punished with simple or rigorous imprisonment for a term extending up to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
The section requires that a lawfully established mint in India should exist from where any coining tool or instrument should be taken out without lawful authority by the accused.
The offence under this section is cognizable, non-bailable and non-compoundable, and is triable by magistrate of the first class.
