Compoundable offences:
1. Sec.320 of Cr.P.C. deals with compoundable offences.
2. Less serious nature offences are compoundable.

3. Compoundable offences are of two types narrated in the Tables in Sec. 320 Cr.P.C.
(i) Compoundable without the permission of the Court
(ii) Compoundable with the permission of the Court.
4. Offences that may lawfully be compounded are those that are mentioned in Sec. 320.

5. Offences punishable mentioned in the I.P.C. are only compoundable.
6. A compromise of a compoundable case deprives the Magistrate of his jurisdiction to try it.
Non-Compoundable offences:

1. Cr.P.C. deals with compoundable and non- compoundable offences.
2. Serious nature offences are not compoundable.
3. There is no such division.
4. Offences other than mentioned cannot be compounded.
5. Offences punishable under laws other than the I.P.C. are not compoundable.
6. It is not so, in the case of Non-compoundable case.
