6 Major Differences between Britain Bar and Indian Bar are given below:
Britain Bar:
1. Legal profession, legal professional ethics and etiquette started in England.

2. There are stronger traditions.
3. Attorney-General is the final authority upon all questions of professional etiquette. He guides. On any professional problem, he shall be consulted.
4. There are two classes of legal practitioners; in England viz. Barristers and Solicitors Rules of Etiquette are not same for these classes.
5. The Professional ethics in England have not been formulated into etiquette. The traditions in England serve better than codification.

6. The General Council of the Bar lays down the rules of professional etiquette.
Indian Bar:
1. These are imported from Britain to India and now are followed in India.
2. There are no such traditions in India.
3. Bar Council of India is the highest body on legal profession. However, Supreme Court is the highest authority in all respects.

4. Upto 1961, there were different classes of legal practitioners in India. Advocates Act, 1961 prohibited all the classes and retained only one class, viz., Advocates. However, the Rules of Etiquette are the same for all legal practitioners.
5. The majority of Professional ethics have been formulated into etiquette.
6. The Bar Council of India lays down the Rules of Professional Etiquette the Advocates Act, 1961 is the Parent Act. It delegates the legislative powers to the Bar Councils.
