Important attached and subordinate offices in India are given below:
1. Directorate General of Foreign Trade, New Delhi:
This Directorate is headed by the Director General of Foreign Trade and is responsible for execution of the Exim Policy announced by the government from time to time for the promotion of exports.
In addition, work relating to issue of licenses and monitoring of export obligations etc. is also looked after by this organisation. The Directorate has its headquarters at New Delhi and there are 31 regional offices in the field formations. These Offices are located at the following stations:-
2. Directorate General of Antidumping and Allied Duties:
The Directorate General of Antidumping and Allied Duties was inaugurated in April 1998 with a view to institutionalizing the system of investigation of dumping as well as subsidies cases.
The Directorate is headed by an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and also has a facilitation cell which advises all interested parties of information required, procedures and time frames involved, besides assisting the industry with regard to technical issues.
3. Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Calcutta (DGCI & S):
This Directorate is the primary government agency for the collection, compilation and the publication of the foreign, inland and ancillary trade statistics and dissemination of various types of commercial information.
The Directorate brings out a number of publications particularly on trade statistics, which are utilised in framing economic policies, formulating trade agreements with foreign countries and monitoring these agreements.

These publications are also used by the trading public and research scholars. It maintains a commercial library which is used by the exporters, importers, research scholars and others.
4. Export Processing Zones:
The Ministry of Commerce has set up seven export processing zones at various locations as below.
(i) Kandla Free Trade Zone, Gandhidham.
(ii) Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone, Mumbai.

(iv) Madras Export Processing Zone, Chennai.
(v) Cochin Export Processing Zone, Cochin.
(vi) Noida Export Processing Zone, Noida, (UP).
(vii) Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone, Visakhapatnam.
The above export processing zones are responsible for the administration of free trade zones and in setting up 100% export-oriented multi-product industrial units.
