My parents are very fond of me; they care for me. But there end all their love. They never doted me, the way many parents do! Perhaps that is one of the reasons how they keep shaping me up to excel continually, both at school and at home.
At the same time, they never scolded me even once. Whenever I did anything wrong, they pointed out my mistakes and corrected me.
As my father’s job is a transferable one, once in two years we will be shifting to different cities in India! This again enabled me to explore different places, meet different people and learn their customs and gain knowledge. My parents had bought all that I needed. However, before buying a thing dicey analyzed in what way would that be useful to me.
Once I asked for a toy machine gun. “No my dear son,” said my father politely refusing, “Even as a play thing you should not get used to gun culture, because as days pass by, you will show more interest in guns and fire arms. So, ask anything else!”

What he said was true. Two days later he showed me a news item. It read that a school boy in America brought a genuine lire arm to the school and shot six of his fellow students just for the heck of it! It was blamed later that he had seen his father hunt the birds with the gun and that influenced him to use his gun!
Instead, my parents had bought me lot of books. Fables, activities, biographies, and many more, apart from subscribing to Champak, an unparalleled child’s magazines. All these books helped me in acquiring immense knowledge about everything, be it road safety or good habits, arts and culture.
And twice a month my father took me to the swimming pool and taught me to swim too. And he also made arrangement with the local gym which I visited every day.
My parents insisted diet I watch educative channels like Discovery, History, Animal Planet and National Geography. I was provided with a latest modeled computer at home with internet connection. But I seldom browse through the net.

There is another tiling that I hate! It is the mobile phone. It irritates me to see how children like me, waste their valuable time with mobile phone glued to their ears. Similarly, the idiot box! I mean, the TV set. Many parents abandon their work at home and sit watching the soap serials regularly for hours together.
But my parents never do that. They watch entertaining channels. Finally, let me quote these great sayings about parents. “God cannot be everywhere, so he made mothers. A father is a library to his child.” My parents are just the same. Hence, I love my parents dearly and vice versa.
