(a) Fencing of machinery:
Every moving part of the prime mover and every fly wheel connected to a prime mover, whether the prime mover of fly wheel is in the engine house or not, every part of an electric generator, a motor or rotary converter, every part of transmission machinery and every dangerous part of any other machinery should be fenced.
(b) Work on or near machinery in motion:

If machinery needs examination, this should be done by a specially trained adult male worker wearing tight fitting clothing, whose name has been recorded in the register.
Such worker will not handle a belt at a moving pulley if it is not within the specified condition.
(c) Employment of young person’s on dangerous machines:
ADVERTISEMENTS:
No young person shall work at any machine unless he has been fully instructed as to the dangers arising out of it, and has received sufficient training in work at that machine.
(d) Striking gear and devices for cutting of power:
Suitable striking gear or other efficient mechanical appliance should be provided and maintained. Secondly, driving belts when not in use shall not be allowed to rest or ride upon shafting in motion.
(e) Self-acting machines:

Self-acting machines should be installed according to the specified conditions so that they may not pose danger to workers.
(f) Prohibition of employment of women and children near cotton openers:
No woman or children should be employed for pressing cotton where a cotton opener is at work.
(g) Pits, sumps opening in floors, etc.:
As such openings in the ground are dangerous to the workers; these should be properly covered or securely fenced.
(h) Excessive weights:
It has also been provided in the Act that no person shall be asked to lift, carry or move any load so heavy as to be likely to cause him injury.
(i) Protection to eyes:
Where there is a danger or harm to the eyes, the Act provides that effective screens or suitable goggles should be provided for the protection of persons employed.
(j) Precautions against dangerous fumes:
No employee shall enter or allowed to enter any chamber, tank, vat, pipe, flue or other confined space in which dangerous fumes are likely to be present.
(k) Precautions in case of fire:
All possible means of escape from fire should be provided in every factory. Doors, etc. should not be locked or fastened. All means of escape like windows, doors, etc. should be clearly marked in a language which the workers understand.
(l) Safety of buildings and machinery:
In case the inspector finds a building or machinery risky for the workers he can serve a notice to the employer and tell him his opinion regarding measures which should be taken in this regard.
(m) Maintenance of building:
The building should be so maintained that they do not pose any danger to the health and life of the workers.
