This is a very beautiful piece of writing by Pablo. The poet describes the feelings and emotions attached with his love and how much it aches to wait for the love to come near to him. It seems impossible to live without the love of your life for a day, or an hour. Even wait of a second seems to be killing for the real lover. The lover wants his love to remain and stay close to him. He used different metaphor to show his intense love and the pain of waiting.
Lastly, the poet seems worried whether the love of his life will ever come back to him or not. He is tired to waiting and now if the hopes and this wait does not end, it will become impossible to live a moment longer without her.
In this poem the author loves a person a lot. He says that he does not want her to go far from him even for a day. Because the day she will go, that day becomes so long for him. It seems this day never ends and this wait starts paining him in his heart. He finds a way to say it by comparing this wait for his lover same like waiting for a train in a station that has closed for the night. If you ever sit in a station in the middle of the night, having missed the last train, and when most of the trains are parked off, in a strange place. This feeling is full of loneliness and one the morning seems like a never ending wait. The author says he needs his love for his survival.
Author says do not leave her for a single hour because when she leaves him then even the little drops of water will be painful for him. This means that the author will weep and long for his love and the passing of very tear from his eyes will just remember her and will want her to come back immediately. The eyes will miss and search for her only. And slowly, this wait will become like congestion is his throat and then heart, which will finally kill him. He explained that his condition will becomes same like when the smoke will drift into his home and he will face the problem of breathing and lost the heart.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
Now when even after spending many hours waiting for his love, the author looks worried that her outline never dilute from the beach. It means that the wait has become so immense that he is worried that he does not lose her shadow also if she does not come now. He even does not want that she leave him even for a second. He loves her real deeply and to the very core of his heart.
The author thinks that if she leaves even for a moment then, he will be thrown into total confusion, wandering around the earth, seeking her return, “mazily” – as though lost in a maze. He will, in short, become mad in his love, wandering like a nomad, searching for her. Lastly he asks his love that whether you will come back for me? Or will you leave me alone here for dying? The author says that the loss of her will mean his death.
