Most of us have become selfish and egoistic. We are only concerned about ourselves and do not care for others at all. We don’t have any comparison for anyone.
If someone asks for a small thing like pen, for a while, we are hesitant to give him. If our neighbour is sick, we don’t care for him, if a poor person asks for water from us, we don’t give him.
When we are travelling in a bus, and someone teases a woman, we don’t come forward to protect her, as we are scared that man might hurt or kill us, if we raise a voice against him.

A shopkeeper does not care for what is happening to the other shopkeeper. He is only concerned about himself. If other shopkeeper’s shop is being demolished by the local authorities he doesn’t care for it.
We are leading ourselves and others to degradation due to our selfishness. What we don’t realize is that if we shall become selfish and stop helping others, then other too shall become selfish and stop helping us.
If we don’t lend a small thing like pen to others, then others shall too not land us anything. If we don’t go to console the grieved family of our neighbour, others shall not come to us in such a sad situation.
