Mother Teresa is known all over the world for her virtues of compassion and love that she displayed in the service of lepers and poorest of poor people of the world.
Mother Teresa’s real name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She took birth on August 26, 1910 at Skopje. Her father Kole was a businessman and her mother Drana was a simple minded housewife.
Her mother was a deeply religious and very kind hearted lady. She could not bear the sight of diseased and poor people. She instilled the habits of sacrifice and selflessness in little Agnes.

Agnes grew up into a beautiful damsel, but she did not wish to get married. She wanted to serve the mankind. Agnes proceeded to Dublin on Sept 25, 1928. She learned English in the Mother’s House of the Loreto Sisters.
On December 1, 1928, Sister Teresa went to India. At the age of 38 Sister Teresa took vows of purity and obedience to God.
Mother Teresa served the poor diseased and needy people of the Nation till her last breath. This angel of the mankind, died on September 5, 1997. She shall be remembered for her virtuous deeds forever.
