Short Biography of M Veerappa Moily – M. Veerappa Moily is the Union Minister for Law and Justice. He was elected as MP of the Chickballapur district by a wide margin in 2009.
He currently serves as the All India Congress Committee General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh.
He is one of the senior members of the Congress Party and is a close adviser for Congress Leader Sonia Gandhi. He is a former Chief Minister of the Indian state of Karnataka.

He was elected to Karnataka state legislative assembly from Karkala constituency of Udupi district. Veerappa Moily is the senior Partner in Law Firm – Moily Associates.
Till the 2009 general elections he worked as chairman of the Overseeing Committee appointed for Implementation of Reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBC) by the Government of India. He is also appointed as the Chairman of Second Administrative Reform Commission of India.
