How to establish a small scale industry in Delhi?

Steps that are required for establishing a small industry enterprise in Delhi, you are required to:

i. Select an item for production/assembly;

ii. Prepare a report on techno-economic feasibility;

iii. Get a temporary small industry registration from Directorate of

iv. Industries, Govt. of Delhi, Old CPO Building, Kashmere Gate, Delhi;

v. Apply Delhi Financing Institution for finance;

vi. Make arrangements for land and building;

vii. Get municipal licence from the Asstt. Commissioner (Factory licencing), MCD, Old Hindu College, Kashmere Gate, Delhi;

viii. Get power supply from DESU.

ix. Now effective steps are to be taken for the installation of plants and machineries. Pilot production.

x. Now in case the item is covered under excise-duty, then before starting a regular/commercial production, excise-duty licence is to be taken from excise-duty authorities.

xi. Start regular commercial production.

xii. Get registration under Delhi shop Establishment Act from the Department of Labour, Govt. of Delhi, Rajpur Marg, and Delhi.

xiii. In case of the firm being on partnership, the registration shall be done by Firm Registrar, First Floor, ISBT, Kashmere Gate, Delhi.

xiv. Contact Sales Tax Officer, Bye-shape Building, Indraprastha Estate, and New Delhi for getting local sales tax registration and Central Sales Tax registration.

xv. In case of employing 10 or more persons and using power as energy, source, it is necessary to get registration from Chief Fac­tory Inspector, Govt. of Delhi, Rajpur Road, Delhi.

xvi. In case of employing, or more persons and all manufacturing processes being hand-operated, it is necessary to get registration from Chief Factory Inspector, Govt. of Delhi, Rajpur Road, Delhi.

xvii. The Unit is required to be registered by the Directorate of Indus­tries, Kashmere Gate, and Delhi as a permanent Small Unit.

xviii. If willing to execution of government orders or wanting to get machines on hire-purchase, then the unit is required to register by National Small Industries Corporation Ltd., Okhla, and New Delhi.
