Free Essay on “If I Were the Prime Minister” – The Prime Minister of our country is the administrative head of the whole nation. He or she is the leader of the largest group in the Parliament.
The Prime Minister is a very powerful person and rules the country. He or she is elected by the people of the country and is a member of Lok Sabha.
If I were the Prime Minister of India I would work for removing poverty and illiteracy. Ours is a big country with a huge population. The country has a written constitution. I would follow the provisions enshrined in the constitution and govern the country.

My country is proud of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lai Nehru, Subhash Chander Bose and Swami Vivekanand. I would follow their teachings and principles.
India is a land of villages. The rural areas of this country are not properly developed. They have poor sanitation facilities and drinking water problem.
I would provide the rural areas with electricity, water, school and other facilities. I would work for overall development of rural people.
Population control is a challenge before our country. I would make policies to check the population growth effectively. Illiteracy is another major problem of this country.

If I were the Prime Minister, I would make education free, so that poor people can also study in schools and colleges.
I would like to open hospitals everywhere to serve the sick and poor people. I would make travel free for the old people and children. India has big industries.
I would work for their growth and development. I would try to maintain good relationship with neighbouring countries but I would not allow the enemies to disturb peace in my land.

I would try that children of India get the best facilities in all the fields. I would also encourage’ our scientists to make new discoveries. I would encourage and educate the farmers to grow more crops.
I would try my level best to suppress terrorism in any part of India and do my best to save innocent people from their attacks. I would encourage honesty and truthfulness in my people.
As a leader, I would lead a simple life and not run after power and wealth. This would set a good example before my countrymen.
