If you don’t know your destination, you are most likely to go round and round in circles, confused and not reaching any where. Thus, for a successful journey decides where you want to go before you I decide to undertake it.
It is natural for us to nurture dreams for our future as the flight of imagination traverses all limits and boundaries.
We can become anything or anyone though all that we imagine depends on what we observe around us, the experiences we internalize, the person whom we like the most, the people whom we think are successful and whom we would like to grow up as. All these give us a direction to decide what we would want to be when we grow up.

I, too, have a dream and that is of serving people, helping them to overcome their pain, mitigate their suffering and provide relief to them.
I have been inspired by Mother Teresa whose life and sacrifice has fired my imagination. I know that she was a social worker who had dedicated her whole life to the cause of the poor and needy and only the rarest of the rare can be like her.
Thus, keeping my limitations in mind, I do wish to imbibe some of her virtues and so I dream of becoming a doctor. I imagine myself wearing a white coat with a stethoscope hanging around my neck, going up and down, a clean hospital corridor, talking to my patients, giving them hope for their recovery, looking into their eyes and discovering the expression of gratitude and trust in them. I can feel in my dreams the satisfaction and joy it would give me.

Madame Curie, who has left her imprints on the sands of time, is another legend who has inspired me to do some thing more challenging than just serving the sick. Thus, I have often fantasized finding new cures for the most fatal diseases such as Cancer, tuberculosis, AIDS etc. and there has been a break through for their cure.
Thanks to genetic engineering there is some hope for the cure of Cancer but still a lot has to be done. I want to specialize in oncology, do a lot of research, and wipe off this disease from the face of the Earth, completely, just as small pox and polio.
I would discover a vaccine which would ensure no man would be tormented by cancer. I fantasize being awarded the Nobel Prize for my work in this field which would leave my colleagues spell bound. I also imagine my name to be written in golden letters in the history of Mankind just like Madame Curie. After all, ‘We walk this Earth but once’ and I wish to make the best use of my life.
My aim in life is decided yet I know that my journey to reach my destination is difficult and needs a lot of determination and focused efforts. My journey has already started, though I am just in class VI but it is my present today which will determine my future thus every minute has to be dedicated to my tomorrow.

To realize my dream, I will have to make a lot of sacrifices. Well, I am working hard and excelling in my school, each year. Pursuit for excellence is what I shall have to remind myself, again and again.
My purpose should be not to compromise for anything less than this. I know I will have to compete with the very best in this Nation to qualify for entering a medical college. Sometimes, when I am tired, I wonder if I can achieve my goal but my parents support me and strengthen my confidence.
I will certainly become a doctor, is a promise which I have made to myself and I shall keep it. These lines by Robert Frost give me strength___
“The woods are lovely dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep”.
