George Washington, the first President of the United States of America is considered as the founding father of the United States.
Serving as the Commander- in- chief of the Continental Army during the American revolutionary war Washington is responsible for the framing and drafting of the American Constitution thus replacing the Articles of the Confederation.

George Washington took his oath of office as the first President of United States on April 30 1789.

George Washington realized that the nation that ran under the framework of his articles of Confederation was not running properly as a result of which he led a new Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787. With the ratification of this constitution, he was elected as the first President of the United States. Washington also did not pay any attention to the advice of his pro- British Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton. Washington was quite aware of the fact that listening to any of them would fulfil their selfish interests instead of fulfilling the dream of the United States of America. What made Washington stand out in the crowd was that each and every decision he took was based on fulfilling the American dream instead of any of the selfish interests of anyone else. He even rose into conflict with his secretaries if he felt that a decision made by them will influence the country as a whole. He always put the country first despite the difficulties that came into his path. Righteousness and good deed were part of his nature.
