Museum is a place where antique objects of art, science, history etc. are placed for studies. Museum is an informative and instructive place.
The objects kept their throw light on the ancient civilization. It broadens our knowledge of the things of the past. We can say it as the specimen of our glorious past.
The National Museum in New Delhi is situated in a three storied building. The first floor is connected with the affairs of India.

Second floor relates to the international field and third floor is devoted to the achievements of Indian states, in different fields.
I along with my parents and brother went there last Sunday. We carried our lunch with us from home. The weather was pleasant. First, we visited the Health exhibition at the ground floor.
There were many medicines relating to Ayurvedic system. There were surgical instruments being used by surgeons in 500 B.C. A glass woman from a German Museum was there. It revealed the different organs of the human body.

On the First Floor, the excavated things of Mohen-jo-daro and Harappa were also kept there. To depict the culture of Harappa and Mohen-jo-daro there were tools, earthen pots, ornaments and other important items. There were also the remains of old and new Stone Age.
On the Second Floor an Third Floor, there were paintings of the past. There were paintings of Rama, Laxman and Sita, Draupadi Cheer
Haran, Krishna with his Gopikas, Yashodhara etc There were paintings belonging to Mughal period beautifully painted There were manuscripts of Mahabharat, the Bhagwat Puran, the Quran etc. There were items from Britain, U.S.A., U.S.S.R., Germany etc.
On the next floor achievements of states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh were displayed.

After taking our lunch there we returned home. Our visit was a great source of information and knowledge.
