(1) Weekly Hours-No adult worker shall be required or allowed to work in a factory for more than 48 hours in any week.
(2) Weekly Holidays-There is a provision for weekly holiday for the workers.
(3) Compensatory Holidays-If a worker is asked to perform duty on a holiday he should be given compensatory off (holiday) in lieu thereof.

(4) Daily Hours-No adult worker shall be required or allowed to work in a factory for more than 9 hours in any day.
(5) Intervals for rest-The working period should be so fixed that no work exceeds 5 hours. Half-an-hour’s rest should be given to the workers after every five hours.
(6) Spread over-Including the period for rest no adult worker in a factory should be required to work for more than ten and a half hours in any day. Only the Chief Inspector can relax this time up to twelve hours.

(7) Extra wages for overtime-Where a worker works in a factory for more than 9 hours in a day he shall be paid overtime for the extra work done by him.
(8) Register of adult workers-According to the Act, the manager of every factory shall maintain a register of adult workers. This should be made available to the inspector whenever he asks for it for the purpose of inspection.
The register should have the following details about a worker: (a) name, (b) nature of work, (c) the group, if any in which he is included, (d) where his group works and (e) such other particulars as may be prescribed.
